Engineering

A group of retired engineers share a life-time of memories and experiences from the world of precision engineering. They served apprenticeships with a prestigious Kirkcaldy firm, Melville-Brodie Engineering Company and became experts in many areas of engineering. When the firm closed, Kirkcaldy also lost a company that had been the pride of Scottish engineering. As the retired engineers reflect on the radical changes that have taken place since their ‘second to none’ training, they realise the importance of recording knowledge and skills for posterity.
